The importance of Intrapreneurship

When we discuss about intrapreneurship, actually it is a form of corporate entrepreneurship. You always heard about entrepreneurship, but what is intrapreneurship. Intrapreneurship is the concept about how we as a employee have the spirit of entrepreneurship for instant the behaviour of competitive aggressiveness, proactiveness, a moderate risk taking and innovativeness. All of that behaviour are the dimension of intrapreneurship.

There are several researcher investigate about intrapreneurship such as Zahra (1990), Kuratko and Jenning that did empirical investigation about the concept of intrapreneurship. That researcher did the investigation about the nature or fenomena, antecedence and the effect of intrapreneurship into the performance of firms. It was Peterson and Berger (1972) that investigate the importance of internal organizational factors and environment factor that affect intrapreneurial behaviour of employee.

This study continue by the other researcher for instant Zahra (1999) try to focus their attention on processes by the establish corporation venture into new businesses and try to identified factors that account the success of corporate venture. There are several researcher that investigate the relationship between autonomous and formal strategic behaviour that exist in a firm’s intrapreneurial activities. His name is Burgelman's (1983). This researcher yielded a new knowledge to the literature of intrapreneurship especially by documenting the interplay between two important variables.

I like to see the map of visitors and see where people are interested about entrepreneurship and probably intrapreneurship. Nice post, btw, wikipedia has also some info about intrapreneurhip.

Yes I agree with you. There is a definition abaut untrapreneurship in wikipedia. But did you know whar is the exactly definition of intrapreneurs. There are not ease to us to explain the the right definition of intrapreneurship. Actually, intrapreneurs are employees who work within a business in entrepreneurial capacity; creating a new innovative product and proceses in the organization. Intrapreneurship is often associated with a larger company that have taken notice of the rise in intrapreneurial activity in recent years. These firms endeavour to create an environment wherein creative employees can pursue new ways of doing things and product idea within the context of corporation. That is what Moris, Lewis and Sexton said in their investigation in 1994.
